About Pam

I've always had a magpie instinct for anything that sparkles and have been collecting rocks and mineral specimens for as long as I can remember. I'm deeply fascinated by their healing and metaphysical properties, and this provided the inspiration to begin creating jewellery with semi-precious gemstone beads several years ago. Now I'm hooked and a total bead-junkie!

I spend a huge amount of time tracking down the best materials available, purchasing all the silver and gold vermeil used in my work directly from the artisans in Bali and Thailand. Wherever possible I try to include rarer stones, especially the newer 'high vibration' stones which have been appearing on the marketplace in recent years.

Although I greatly prefer working with natural materials, I occasionally incorporate Swarovski Austrian crystal, artisan lampwork glass and Murano glass in my designs to make them more appealing to a wider audience or if I wish to emphasise the therapeutic benefits of particular colours. My goal is to create eclectic artisan jewellery that is not only visually beautiful, but beneficial to the wearer too.

My formal education includes a BSc (Hons) in Environmental Biology and an MSc in Historic Conservation (of buildings) from Oxford Brookes University. I'm a perpetual student at heart, qualified in a wide range of alternative therapies and love learning new skills. When not playing with beads, I enjoy hiking in the Mourne Mountains, photography and messing about with paint.
