Maat
Named after the Egyptian goddess of truth, justice and universal order.
Materials used:
- Cobalt blue hydrothermal quartz* faceted briolette pendant
- Rainbow moonstone microfaceted rondelles
- AAA lapis lazuli rondelles
- Sodalite faceted rondelles
- AAA blue chalcedony rounds
- Bohemian faceted ‘Russian Blues’ (antique glass trade beads dating from mid to late-1800s)
- White freshwater pearls
- Sleeping Beauty turquoise ovals
- Bali sterling silver spacers and toggle clasp
- All findings are sterling silver
*Hydrothermal quartz is cultured quartz (not glass), which is grown on seed plates in an autoclave over a period of several weeks. I don’t normally use created gemstones, but this is worth breaking my rules for, as it would cost a small fortune to obtain an earth-mined gemstone of this size and clarity. Hydro quartz is also very much in vogue with a number of top New York designers!
